All is well till they meet the sexy siren Neha and thus begins a journey of fun, frolic and a test of friendship like never before when Neha's boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, it gets even hotter under everyone's vests and bikini's and the boy’s get down and dirty, in sunny Miami.

Produced and directed by Suneel Darshan, "Ek Rishta" is a gripping film about strong family bonds, relationships gone sour and clash of bloated egos. In the film Big B plays a stern patriarch who rules his family, comprising a loving wife, a son and three daughters, with an iron hand.
Vijay Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan) is a successful businessman well past his prime. His intrinsic strength is his wife (Rakhee) who stands by him in all adversities.

The happy family has three daughters Rani, Priya and Priti (Juhi Chawla) and a son Ajay (Akshay Kumar) who is studying abroad for his Masters degree in Information Technology. Vijay Kapoor wants Ajay to carry on the family business.

The entire Kapoor family is jubilant when Ajay returns home after completing his studies. But there is a catch. Having inculcated the most sophisticated business tactics abroad, Ajay wants to start work on his own terms. But Vijay Kapoor does not approve of his business acumen. He thinks Ajay is naïve and will learn only with time and experience. On the other hand Vijay Kapoor is pretty impressed with Rajesh Porohit (Mohnish Behl) who is but an employee in his firm.

SYNOPSIS:
When Thakur Pratap Singh refuses to bow down to cruel Bhishamber Nath, he is severely beaten up and left on a nearby railway track to be cut to pieces by the next passing train, leaving behind his widowed wife, Sharda, and two young sons, Ram and Lakhan. Sharda vows to avenge the death of her husband, and hopes she will achieve this when her sons grow up and ultimately destroy their father's assailants, and it is then and then only will she disperse her husband's ashes. Years later, Ram is now the Police Inspector and is a major obstacle in Bhishamber's illegal activities. While Lakhan is the fun-loving, wanna be quick millionaire, precocious young man, still living in his brother's shadow. When Lakhan finds out that there is a big reward for the capture and arrest of notorious gangster Kesariya Vilayti, he single-handedly captures him and claims the reward. Thinking police work is quite simple and easy, he applies for the job, completes his training and also becomes a police inspector like his brother. Satisfied that her sons have chosen the right path, Sharda goes on a religious pilgrimage. When she returns she finds that nothing is the same anymore, Ram and Lakhan have quarreled and no longer speak with each other; Ram lives in a their older family home, while Lakhan has moved in to a spacious bungalow, supposedly bought through bribes. While Ram continues to create obstacles for Bhishamber, Lakhan has now joined Bhishamber's gang and is on their pay-roll. Taking the current situation into account, it looks like Sharda may not live long enough to avenge her husband's death

Aditya (Akshay Kumar), an automobile engineer in a car company, is engaged to Sonia (Bipasha Basu), a fashion designer about to make her mark in the field. And as much as Aditya tried to overlook those facts, they kept coming in the way. Aditya arrives in Canada where his sister Simran (Bhagyashree) is living. In between work, co-incidence or destiny makes him bump into Jia (Katrina Kaif) more than once. Jia, daughter of business tycoon Yashwardhan Birla, has come to Canada all alone to shop for her wedding with the business giant, Karan Raichand. Jia was a simple girl with simple needs. She had got everything she could ask for in her childhood, but never time from her ever so busy father. And now the man her father had chosen for her hardly had any time to spend with her too. And that is when she found a friend in Aditya. Aditya and Jia manage to spend time with each other and as time passes, the friendship between them grows. Being an amazing driver, Aditya gets a chance from his company to participate in a car rally. And somehow he persuades Jia to participate with him, and wins it too. On returning from the destination of the rally, their car gets stuck in the snow and they have to spend the night together. They share intimate moments, which make them forget that they were engaged, but not to each other. With passing time, they fail to realize when they start falling in love with each other. But a misunderstanding with Aditya and prior commitment with Karan makes Jia go back to India to get married with Karan. Aditya also comes back to India to get married with Sonia and does not attempt to meet Jia ever again. But fate makes them meet for the last time – at Jia's wedding...
