SYNOPSIS:
The film is about the difficult situation in which the Pakistanis in particular and the Muslims in general are caught up since 9/11. There is a war going on between the Fundamentalists and the Liberal Muslims. This situation is creating a drift not only between the Western world and the Muslims, but also within the Muslims. The educated and modern Muslims are in a difficult situation because of their approach towards life and their western attire. They are criticized and harassed by the fundamentalists and on the other hand the Western world sees them as potential suspects of terrorism just because of their Muslim names. This paradox is resulting in great suffering for a forward looking Muslim. Above mentioned is the theme of the film "KHUDA KE LIYE" which in English means "IN THE NAME OF GOD". The interesting thing about the film is how it connects the happenings in the three continents. Unlike the usual Indian and Pakistani films based on romantic saga, dances and songs, this film is based on some very serious issues, raising a lot of controversial questions boggling the Muslim minds these days.

Synopsis :
Though there were a number of films on dacoits and 'thakurs' earlier, Sholay was a different genre in films altogether. Its unprecedented success broke all records and in some theaters, the film ran for as long as one whole year.l

Sholay was a multistarrer. Top stars like Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri dotted the film, but it was the new actor Amjad Khan who walked away with the honor of immortalizing 'Gabbar Singh' in our minds.

Sholay is the story of a cop who arrests a dreaded dacoit and puts him in jail. Furious and mad with revenge, the dacoit escapes from prison and wipes off 'thakur's entire family. The dacoit also chops off the hands of the 'thakur'. It is now the 'thakur's turn to avenge the murder of his family and he does it from outside police system.

The 'thakur' hires two notorious criminals and trains them to confront the dacoit. The rest of the film has camaraderie of the two criminals who are also bosom buddies, their romantic flings, the face-offs with the 'thakur' and finally the war against the dreaded dacoit 'Gabbar Singh'. In the violence of killing 'Gabbar Singh', one of the friends dies.

Sholay had a string of extremely fine performances by all the actors. It is very difficult to pinpoint on any one of them, saying he or she was the best. Whether it was Amitabh or Dharmendra, Hema or Jaya in her brilliantly essayed cameo, or the towering Sanjeev Kumar as the 'thakur'. They surpassed their own credentials.

When Kartar Singh finds out about his sons' plans he is crushed and finds himself betrayed by the one person he gave everything to. Having inculcated the most sophisticated business tactics abroad, Ajay wants to start work on his own terms. But Vijay Kapoor does not approve of his business acumen. When Thakur Pratap Singh refuses to bow down to cruel Bhishamber Nath, he is severely beaten up and left on a nearby railway track to be cut to pieces by the next passing train, leaving behind his widowed wife, Sharda, and two young sons, Ram and Lakhan. Sharda vows to avenge the death of her husband, and hopes she will achieve this when her sons grow up and ultimately destroy their father's assailants, and it is then and then only will she disperse her husband's ashes. Thinking police work is quite simple and easy, he applies for the job, completes his training and also becomes a police inspector like his brother. Satisfied that her sons have chosen the right path, Sharda goes on a religious pilgrimage. When she returns she finds that nothing is the same anymore, Ram and Lakhan have quarreled and no longer speak with each other; Ram lives in a their older family home, while Lakhan has moved in to a spacious bungalow, supposedly bought through bribes. While Ram continues to create obstacles for Bhishamber, Lakhan has now joined Bhishamber's gang and is on their pay-roll. Taking the current situation into account, it looks like Sharda may not live long enough to avenge her husband's death

Bunty and Babli are two avid dreamers. Two free souls born into caged small town realities. They grow weary of being two specks on the horizon. They desire the horizon itself. On a journey across the length and breadth of the country, spinning circles around the people they meet. Born "Rakesh" in a lethargic, lead-eyed Fursatganj, he is a man of schemes, ideas, invention and restlessness. His small Uttar Pradesh town begins to feel a bit too small for his king size plans. He wants to be amongst the richest in the world. He wants to be in jacuzzis. He wants to be in limousines. He wants to be a big blip on the radar of history. He wants to be big black typo in newspaper headlines. In short, he wants out of here. In a parallel universe, in another slump-backed, crinkle nosed small town called Pankinagar, Vimmi, our heroine, faces the same dilemma. Does she follow the course every other young marriageable girl does? Or does she carve new fatelines on her soft as butter palms? In her mind (but in her mind alone!) she's the foxiest thing to ever have hit a ramp. She's the hottie the world can just gape at but never touch. She is Miss India. So she too decides to fly the coop. Somewhere along their individual journeys, Rakesh and Vimmi meet, flogged by circumstance but unwilling to concede. In a moment of mistaken truth, "Bunty" and "Babli" are born. And the world gets turned on its head! We follow the duo through caper after caper, in which they meet rajahs, powerbrokers, shaadi bandwallahs, millionaires, investors, leaders, ministers, banjaras, elephants, explorers, hoteliers, chai boys and one very, very upset policeman! The world sits up and takes wide eyed notice of this pair. Bunty is the Rakesh that Rakesh always dreamt of being, with a delicious twist. Babli is the Vimmi that Vimmi never thought she'd become, with another delicious twist. Together they are more than the sum of their parts.
Together they are spiritual gurus, bureaucrat and secretary, gangster and moll, business partners, hen pecked husband and pregnant wife, lawyer and sexually harassed client, vagabonds, caught-in-a-downpour lovers and lots, lots more. And they seem to be loving every minute of it.
Their escapades play out against backdrops as varied as the Taj Mahal, the banks of the Ganges, the saffrons of Benaras, the browns of Kanpur and Lucknow, the whites of Mussoorie, the tinkling bells of Rishikesh and Hardwar, the skies of Delhi and all across the vein like network of the Great Indian railways and highways. Every mundane reality in every dusty corner of India is flushed out of its slumber by a splash of "Bunty aur Babli" excitement in this, the tale of two dreamers that blaze the sky like comets. Synopsis :
Aditya (Akshay Kumar), an automobile engineer in a car company, is engaged to Sonia (Bipasha Basu), a fashion designer about to make her mark in the field. As individuals, Aditya and Sonia were not on the same wavelength. Sonia was a 21st Century woman for whom career came first and she believed in changes. And as much as Aditya tried to overlook those facts, they kept coming in the way. Though the marriage date is fixed, Aditya had to leave for Canada to learn about the technique of a new car model, to be launched in India; while Sonia had to leave for Paris for a fashion show. Aditya arrives in Canada where his sister Simran (Bhagyashree) is living. In between work, co-incidence or destiny makes him bump into Jia (Katrina Kaif) more than once. Jia, daughter of business tycoon Yashwardhan Birla, has come to Canada all alone to shop for her wedding with the business giant, Karan Raichand. Jia was a simple girl with simple needs. She had got everything she could ask for in her childhood, but never time from her ever so busy father. And now the man her father had chosen for her hardly had any time to spend with her too. And that is when she found a friend in Aditya. Aditya and Jia manage to spend time with each other and as time passes, the friendship between them grows. Being an amazing driver, Aditya gets a chance from his company to participate in a car rally. And somehow he persuades Jia to participate with him, and wins it too. On returning from the destination of the rally, their car gets stuck in the snow and they have to spend the night together. They share intimate moments, which make them forget that they were engaged, but not to each other. With passing time, they fail to realize when they start falling in love with each other. But a misunderstanding with Aditya and prior commitment with Karan makes Jia go back to India to get married with Karan. Aditya also comes back to India to get married with Sonia and does not attempt to meet Jia ever again. But fate makes them meet for the last time – at Jia's wedding...
